TBar offers sidewalk dining under their bright orange awnings, weather permitting. Although it was a balmy night, we opted for an inside table after seeing Dolls House 2, an unexpected 90 minutes of laughter or giggles even with the serious subject. That phenomenal cast includes Laurie Metcalf, Chris Cooper, Jayne Houdyshell and Condola Rashad.

From the cocktail menu, the Tanteo margarita ($14) with tequila, triple sec, lime juice and jalapeno pepper is the one with a little spice kick.

We started by sharing a lightly dressed Caesar salad with slivers of Parmesan and with crisped melted cheese on their housemade crouton ($14). If you’re a reader of my reviews, you know I almost always order my favorite cephalopod. TBar’s seared Spanish octopus was tender, not overcooked or chewy. It’s served with potatoes and richly flavored olives ($20). The fresh slivers of zucchini “carpaccio” topped with tomatoes, crispy capers and fresh basil ($14) is a light, beautifully garnished vegan salad.

Fish lovers should try the delicate and moist Chilean sea bass, served classically with ginger-flavored steamed bok choy all in a soy glaze ($39). Nicely done. Meat lovers will relish in their 40-ounce (2.5 pounds!) Black Angus porterhouse for two, cooked to perfection ($110). Don’t miss the side of crispy French fries ($12).  I wasn’t as thrilled with the over-roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon ($12), resulting in a mushy texture.

Desserts are huge ($20 each), each attractively presented serving two or three. Lucky us, as their guest we sampled a few. I’d recommend the warm apple crisp and unusual banana parfait with coconut cream and many very thin layers of puff pastry, topped with sliced bananas and caramel sauce. More ordinary is the sundae with a brownie, ice cream and chocolate sauce.
