Georgette Farkas’s new French rotisserie has been the talk of the town since opening this fall. She’s the former marketing director for Daniel Boulud, her chef David Malbequi is also a Daniel alum. Her inviting restaurant specializes in spit-roasted meats and other goodies from the rotisserie. And it’s a haven for potato lovers!

Having been a couple times at lunch, I can share lots of recommendations! To start, consider the roasted leeks, topped with grilled onions, pine nuts and duck prosciutto ($14) topped with mâche.  Or sample the delicate gnocchi a la parisienne ($18) topped with a wild mushroom reduction. Although each app is fabulous, the show stopper  for me is the tender grilled octopus with potatoes ($19).

Also amazing is Georgette’s rotisserie chicken ($29) with a side pitcher filled with the rich jus provençal, accompanied by a green salad and fries. Those fries are only one of her amazing spud offerings. My favorite are her addicting potatoes cooked in the drippings in the rôtisserie ($7). And her stuffed, crisped (actually deep fried) baked Idaho potato filled with simple mashed potatoes ($12). No sour cream added.

Second to the tender chicken is her roast chicken pot pie ($24) with winter veggies, porcini mushroom and bacon topped in a thick puff pastry crust. It comes with a side of lightly dressed mixed greens.

As accompaniements, Brussels sprouts devotees will like her baby ones with cipollini onions and pancetta ($11). The cauliflower steak with Jerusalem artichokes and raisins ($10) is interesting, although I wouldn’t order it again.

I was too full to sample the desserts. I’ll save that for another time!

I do recommend a visit;  be sure to go hungry!
