Ortega has introduced a new line of reduced sodium seasoning mixes in three flavors. The fajita seasoning mix contains 15 calories and 250 milligrams sodium, which is 25% less than the regular fajita seasoning mix; the Chili seasoning mix contains 30 calories and 160 milligrams of sodium, which is 33% less sodium than the regular chili mix; and the burrito seasoning mix contains 15 calories and 220 milligrams, which is 25% less sodium than regular burrito seasoning mix. A serving size for each is 1.5 teaspoon.
– Alyssa Tucker, Bite of the Best Intern: Chicken fajitas are one of my favorite quick-and-easy, yet flavorful meals. I wouldn’t have known the Ortega Reduced Sodium Seasoning was reduced sodium if I didn’t open the packaging myself. The resulting dish was still very flavorful — actually delicious — something often compromised with reduced sodium foods. I look forward to trying the other two mixes and highly recommend Ortega if you’re are searching for a low-sodium, yet delicious Mexican seasoning mix.
Hoping someone can help. My family has always loved the burrito seasoning and thought the world had ended when we couldn’t get it anymore. Now I have found out about the new reduced sodium version but I cannot find it anywhere. I’ve tried everything but get nowhere. Does anybody know where I could purchase this product or order it from?
