I’ve never met a Danny Meyer restaurant I didn’t like. Seriously, his eating establishments are some of my — and many other New Yorkers’ — favorites: Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Blue Smoke, The Modern….

This November, he’s adding Maialino, a Roman trattoria on the first floor of Ian Schrager’s Gramercy Park Hotel. It’s Danny Meyer’s first new place since The Modern at the Museum of Modern Art in 2005. Maialino executive chef will be Nick Anderer, the former Executive Sous Chef at Gramercy Tavern.
