After being closed for over 20 months, the storied Mory’s Association, a fixture in the New Haven community for over 150 years, re-opened its premises at 306 York Street in August. Mory’s has a long and distinguished history since its founding in the mid-1800’s; it is still a membership-only dining establishment. Membership details can be found by clicking here. The clubhouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mory’s hosted a ribbon cutting event this month, attended by members of the Yale and New Haven communities, including leaders in government, education, business and cultural affairs, which included Mayor John DeStefano.
Upon opening, Mory’s created over 50 new jobs in the New Haven community, taking pride that over half of its new hires were previously unemployed and that its exciting prospects and competitive employment terms enticed the other new hires to leave their jobs for this new opportunity.
