I revisited Tom “Top Chef” Colicchio’s more casual spin-off of craft again recently for brunch. The more informal meals at craftbar offer appealing offerings —with attentive, informative service.

The bloody Mary ($11), garnished with a mini carrot, celery and olive, was made spicy with lots of grated fresh horseradish. We also tried the mockingbird cocktail ($12) consisting of sparkling wine added to vodka blended with lemon and honey. Refreshing.

One entree included slices of housemade pork scrapple (from the pig that arrives at the restaurant each week) served over breakfast potatoes, topped with eggs and some diced bacon mixed. All that was garnished with pickled mustard seeds. Hearty indeed.

Also good is their marinated multi-colored beet salad — flavorful served  at room temperature — ($15) with blood orange supremes and pickled fennel, drizzled with orange puree and garnished with pistachios. I recommend.

Also recommended is the smoky shrimp and grits,  with chunks of chorizo, lots of shishito peppers and barely cooked coddled eggs that acted as the dish’s sauce ($20).

To end, we all shared a decadent chocolate peanut butter pie ($11) with a chocolate base, topped with dark and light chocolate mouse, drizzled with peanut-butter caramel and topped with honey roasted nuts.  It was so rich, three of us couldn’t finish it.

Also interesting are their S’mores made with house-made slight nutty graham crackers spread with house-made marshmallow creme and “nutella” spread.

I recommend a brunch visit. Food is good, service attentive and noise level low!
