Philadelphia’s Center City Restaurant Weeks – September 2011

Philadelphia's Restaurant Weeks runs for two weeks this September. The event takes place Monday, September 12 - Friday, September 16 and Sunday, September 18 - Friday, September 23.  More than 100 restaurants will be offering prix fixe menus with prices ranging from $20.00 - $35.00 (plus tax) and over over 50 restaurants will also be offering a three - course lunch option for $20.00. Chuck’s Fest and Beer Expo 2011

Chucks Fest and Beer Expo takes place Friday, September 9 - Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Toyota Park (7000 South Harlem Avenue). The three day event — presented by Chuck's Southern Comforts Cafe — will feature a variety of Mexican, Cajun and BBQ dishes along with 12 different live bands including Sole City Band, Hurricane Gumbo, Steepwater and Green Sugar Band. Independence After Hours

Running now thru Saturday, October 22, 2011 is Philadelphia's Independence After Hours walking tour and dinner. Attendees dine on a three-course dinner served by colonial townspeople at City Tavern and then "sneak" into Independence Hall for any exclusive tour seeing Philadelphia's founding fathers. Admission is $75.00 for adults, $70.00 for seniors/students/military and $50.00 for children 12 and under. BBQ Bash at The New Haven Open at Yale

The rain didn't stop the hungry attendees from the BBQ Bash yesterday, Sunday, August 21 at the New Haven Open at Yale, sponsored by Niagara Bank — with local chefs grilling outside in the rain, but serving their version of barbecue inside. This event is part of the New Haven Food & Wine Festival. 16th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival

San Francisco's 16th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival will be held September 10-11, 2011 from 12:00 - 5:00 pm daily at Ghirardelli Square (900 North Point Street). For $20.00 participants can sample 15 different types of Ghirardelli Chocolate, sip wine and enjoy chocolate inspired family activities. The festival is used to raise money for Project Open Hand - a San Francisco based organization that provides meals for people living with HIV/AIDS, senior citizens and homebound critically ill persons. Celebrate summer on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Japanese American National Museum (369 E. First Street) with delicious food from Los Angeles' Asian and Fusion food trucks.
