Since I don’t go to Sam’s Club, I’d like to know if hand-rubbed cheddars will be avalable in my local Stop ‘n Shop and if yes, when?

ssrichard: IF you have Big-Y or Price Chopper in your area, you will be able to find us there! Stop ‘n Shop is pending, the product has been presented. You can check with the Deli Manager to request they carry the hand-rubbed cheddars.

Unfortunately, the Hand-Rubbed Cheddars are being presented to Hannaford’s shortly, so they are not currently available. We will keep our fingers crossed that the Hand-Rubbed will be available at Hannaford’s in the near future!

This is an exceptional cheese. I do wish that smaller blocks were offered.
Cabot’s hand rubbed cheeses are currently packaged in two sizes – 8 ounce and 1 pound. If you share your location, we can determine if our 8 ounce bars are available in your area.
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful comments. We pledge to continue working diligently to ensure you receive natural, satisfying products.

the spicy cheddar is my absolute favorite….i melt it on anything AND evrything,
HI! I wanted to comment on the Tuscan Rubbed Cheddar. Living so close to the Cabot stores in Vermont, i have to say i have tried both the Chili Lime and the Tuscan Rubbed, and love both. I buy them for recipes, but end up just enjoying them all by themselves!

I agree Kim! The rubbed cheddar rarely makes it into any recipes at my house before it is eaten by family and friends. Knowing that you often visit the stores, I highly recommend going on a Cabot factory tour at the Cabot Visitor Center in Cabot, VT – if you haven’t already.

Can someone please explain in detail who is rubbing the cheddar by hand? And what does this process entail? Thank you 🙂
