One night craving a burger and fries, I ended up at BLT Burger on 6th Avenue.

The classic burger ($9 + $1 cheese + $1.5 for bacon) was right on — a juicy burger made from a combination of sirloin, short rib, chuck and brisket Black Angus beef, served on a soft bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles. The one disappointment on the plate were the more cucumber than pickle, pickle spears.

The waffle fries ($4) were sadly just okay.

With that we shared a grilled chicken Caesar salad, with only dry breast trimmings topping the romaine. Horrid. The only interesting salad part were the two really crisp and flavorful flat Parmesan croutons.

We did wash that down with a can of Yuengling ($4) and draft of bitter Lagunitas IPA ($7) .

My recommendation: If you’re in the neighborhood, drop in for just a burger. Don’t go out of your way to get there!
