My raspberry/boysenberry blend was only in the machine for 21 minutes. The machine works quietly, did not make a mess, was easy to clean and the resulting jam was just as good as I make by hand.

As a freezer jam maker, I did not gain anything by using the machine versus by hand. In fact, it cost me time and dirtied more dishes.

Points of caution: Stay close!  You need to add the  sugar four minutes into the process and you must be present when the unit is done to ladle out the contents to cool. The ladling process is quite challenging as the jam level is shallow and does not pour in a narrow stream.
