Shake Shack: Philadelphia

Danny Meyer's announced plans to bring the Shake Shake to Philly during the second half of 2012. The planned location is 2000 Sansom Street, near  Rittenhouse Square.   This modern day "roadside" burger stand started in Madison Park in New York City and is known for it's its delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more. Philadelphia’s Center City Restaurant Weeks – September 2011

Philadelphia's Restaurant Weeks runs for two weeks this September. The event takes place Monday, September 12 - Friday, September 16 and Sunday, September 18 - Friday, September 23.  More than 100 restaurants will be offering prix fixe menus with prices ranging from $20.00 - $35.00 (plus tax) and over over 50 restaurants will also be offering a three - course lunch option for $20.00. Participating restaurants include The Dandelion, Barbuzzo, Garces Trading Company, Table 31 and Amada. Chuck’s Fest and Beer Expo 2011

Chucks Fest and Beer Expo takes place Friday, September 9 - Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Toyota Park (7000 South Harlem Avenue). SoCo Opens in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill

Soco restaurant opened recently in Clinton Hill at 509 Myrtle Avenue.  The southern-style restaurant — started by restaurateur trio  Peter Best, Malissa Brown and Sim Walker —  offers  "Southern Comfort" from the food to the atmosphere in the Brooklyn dining scene . Craft Beer Week 2011 in New York

New York Craft Beer Week begins on Friday, September 16 and runs through Sunday, September 25, 2011, celebrating craft beer in all five New York City boroughs. The ten-day fest will feature craft breweries, local celebrity chefs, more than 100 beer stations and 30  restaurants all joined together to celebrate the art of craft beer . Independence After Hours

Running now thru Saturday, October 22, 2011 is Philadelphia's Independence After Hours walking tour and dinner. Attendees dine on a three-course dinner served by colonial townspeople at City Tavern and then "sneak" into Independence Hall for any exclusive tour seeing Philadelphia's founding fathers. 16th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival

San Francisco's 16th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival will be held September 10-11, 2011 from 12:00 - 5:00 pm daily at Ghirardelli Square (900 North Point Street). For $20.00 participants can sample 15 different types of Ghirardelli Chocolate, sip wine and enjoy chocolate inspired family activities. 2011 New York City Vendy Awards

The 7th Annual Vendy Awards - a cook off between the sidewalk chefs in New York City - takes place Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 12:30 - 5:00 pm on Governor's Island. Art & Music at Pastures of Plenty Farm

Last month Pastures of Plenty farm, artists C. Gregory and Jenny Gummersall and musician Tyller Gummersall came together for an evening of art, music, and food to raise money for the Conscious Alliance organization. Big Bang Catering provided locally grown, mostly organic Colorado food for the sold-old event that brought individuals from as far east as Maryland. Lyle Davis, — chef/owner of Pastures of Plenty farm and Big Bang Catering — served local artisan cheeses, Colorado peaches with polenta in a gorgonzola sauce, a traditional Greek salad, pork loin, and grilled shrimp with Dante, Avant and Parducci wines. Jake’s Steakhouse Comes to Long Island

Jake's Steakhouse recently opened at 2172 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, Long Island.
