Like millions of others, I decided to see Margo Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the blockbuster that put Greta Gerwig on the books as the first film directed solely by a woman to cross $1 billion in global box office sales.

Barbie’s existential crisis is fun and thought-provoking! I do recommend seeing it.

After the movie, we headed to P.J. Clarke’s On the Hudson to sit outside Brookfield Place by the Hudson, watching the ships go by, with the Statue of Liberty in the background.

While deciding what to have, we nibbled on their crispy onion strings with a Dijon aioli ($10).

One of my friends had the lemon chicken paillard ($26.25) with watercress, radicchio and fennel topped with shaved Parmesan, the other a NY Reuben on caraway rye with sauerkraut and Gruyère cheese ($25.35) with a side of french fries (always good at PJ’s!).

I enjoyed every morsel of my perfectly cooked Cedar plank Faroe Island salmon in a sweet, smoky glaze with fava bean succotash ($34.15). I recommend.

Silly me had eaten most of mine when I realized I had eaten most of my dish and neglected to photograph it. Hence the more-than-half-eaten photo!
