For a boozy brunch, I suggest a weekend trip to Maya Modern Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Bar. Not only are the drinks bottomless, but the food is too. At the time we dined there, it was $55 for all the food and cocktails you can consume for 90 minutes. Ten dollars less without the booze.
My dining partner began with a mango mimosa, then switched to the more traditional blanco tequila margarita as it was allowed! Yes, you could even switch drinks.
We first ordered both their el apertivos that included habañera-spicy charred pumpkin pepita salsa with tortilla chips and tuna ceviche with chilies, corn and avocado. Off to a good start.
I would then recommend both tacos — lamb and pork — with tomatillo salsa, the fried egg topped chilaquiles and the shrimp enchilada in guajillo sauce. I liked the rich flavor of black-bean sauce topped egg-filled tortilla, yet that dish needed more of the scrambled egg filling.
We were too satiated to even look at dessert!
I recommend Maya for a fun boozy brunch.
