The Cheese Ambassador’s offer of “elegant entertaining made easy” had intrigued us. You see, this company selected and packaged two different trios of cheeses with complementary textures and flavors to guide those new to serving cheeses.
A great idea, I thought, as I opened a box containing one of the collections, hoping that we’d like this so much it would become a FeaturedBite.
Their American Artisanal collection combines Central Wisconsin Aged Gouda, 3-year-old Amish Country (PA) Cheddar and Southern Minnesota Cave-Aged Blue. The Mediterranean contains Spanish Tipsy Goat, French Port Salut and Italian Piave.
Packed along with the cheese is a helpful information for cheese neophytes.
- For the fullest flavor, allow the cheese to come to room temperature prior to serving
- Use a separate knife for each cheese, to keep flavors from mingling
- Keep cheese covered before serving so they don’t dry out
- Begin with the mildest and make your way to the sharpest…
In addition the Cheese Ambassador offers suggestions for food and beverage accompaniment. Nice.
They have great information and cheeses. My problem is with the quantity and price.
I tossed the three cheese onto my scale as I took them from the box. My three cheese weighed only 14.5 ounces (or 1.2-ounce less than the box stated). This sells for (gulp!) $35 or about $40 a pound of cheese.
Good info and cheeses. Ridiculous price!

First, let me thank you for the opportunity for having our product reviewed. I understand that this forum provides both positive and negative feedback. I read the product review and wanted to address the concerns with price/value.
For cheese collections available online, the product pricing for The Cheese Ambassador is on par with many of our competitors. We aim to provide our customers with a special cheese experience. The cheeses featured in the American Artisanal collection are very rare finds in a grocery or cheese shop (most are sold in their local markets). They are hand crafted, which comes with a higher price point. It is packaged in a box suitable for gift giving (other sites charge extra for this or build it into their price, as well). It also comes with a cheese course guide, something no other company is providing. Further, the package states that the product weighs 15OZ, not 15.7OZ.
Of course one could scout for similarly exquisite cheeses at their local gourmet food or cheese shops and spend less. But our mission is to provide a unique home entertaining or gift giving product. We take the guesswork out of selecting fine cheese and enable our customers to confidently serve an elegant cheese course. And we make it easy. All product benefits hard to quantify by price.
