Big Daddy’s Diner, Gramercy Park, NYC, revisit

There’s a NYC breakfast for two where the bill doesn’t even come to $20. You’ll find this cheap eats diner on Park Avenue in Gramercy Park as long as you have breakfast before 11 am and choose one of the two half-price specials. Big Daddy’s is a throwback to the seventy with its brightly colored booths and artifacts of the times.

The half-priced breakfast specials includes the “two by four” that comes with two any style eggs ($6.50), toast, bacon and either potatoes (tater tots or fries) or fresh fruit. We both ordered that — one with fries, the other with fresh fruit that consisted of melon, pineapple, grapes and berries. Like my last visit, we were served skinny bacon and not the thick-cut as described on the menu. But I have no complaints at these prices.
