If you’re planning to cook for the upcoming holiday, be sure to pre-order your Thanksgiving bird. Here are some suggestions:

Fleisher’s Grass-Fed and Organic Meats (Many locations): Order your fresh bird from this  well-known butcher shop.

The Meat Hook: This Brooklyn butcher shop gets its broad-breasted white turkeys from Interlaken, New York. They also can provide you with bacon or sausage for stuffing or sides.

DiPaola Turkey Farm:  Order your free-range and antibiotic-free turkey at one of almost 20 Greenmarket locations throughout the city.

Dickson’s Farmstand Meats: This  Chelsea Market butcher shop is bringing in birds from Amish farms in Lancaster, PA.

Heritage Meat Shop: Also in Brooklyn, this shop promotes small family farms and provides turkeys to both chefs and consumers.

Maialino: A choice of a choice of  an Italian-American (chestnut soup, pumpkin tortelli, Heritage Turkey with polenta plus trimmings and spiced apple cake) or Maialino Classic (turkey soup, pasta cacio e pepe, roast suckling pig, pumpkin tart)

$95 per person. $55 for a children’s menu

Red Cat: For dessert at this Chelsea bistro, you can expect to fill up on fresh apple crostada and pumpkin pie elevated with maple crème fraiche and ginger snap cookies.

Three courses $85 per person.

Sarabeth’s (Many locations): Think pumpkin soup, beet and apple salad, crab cakes with fennel and filet mignon. At Sarabeth’s the bird is free-range and comes with leek-and-sausage stuffing and brown butter-whipped potatoes.

Three courses $65 adults, $31 children under 12.

Meadowsweet: This quaint Brooklyn eatery serves up an epic three-course feast, offering vegan and vegetarian courses as long as they’re requested in advance. Indulge in homemade cinnamon-sugar doughnuts with hard cider ice cream for dessert.

Three-course $85. Upon request they will prepare vegetarian and vegan entree dishes.

The Smith: With Natural Heritage turkey done in three ways—pot pie, roasted breast or osso buco with pumpkin risotto—you can’t go wrong at The Smith.

Three courses $62 adults, $31 children under 12.

North End Grill:  Offering some family-style table offerings (salads and all the trimmings) With choices of starters that include squash soup with black truffle butter or gravlax, entrees (turkey, of course, plus more) and desserts (from pumpkin cake to chocolate bread pudding)

$95 per person/$50 for wine pairings

Bouley: Offering a lavish six-course Thanksgiving meal at David Bouley’s eponymous eatery with a menu that won’t be released until Turkey day.

6 courses all day tasting menu at $175 and optional wine pairing at $105
