Met a friend for lunch at North Square, on the northwest corner of Washington Square, a restaurant celebrating its 20th anniversary. Liked the warmth of the wood-lined narrow restaurant.

Sampled a couple of their wines-by-the-glass, but ended up with the crisp Sauvignon Blanc Sean Manor, 2010, Sonoma Country, CA ($9), which went well both our entrees.

Classic Omelette was as it should be light and fluffy, filled with tender pea shoots and fontina cheese — served with french fries and a lightly dressed salad ($11).

What was even more delicious were the three small delicate pan-seared lobster and crab cakes with a tangy, refreshing cucumber-carrot-seaweed salad with not-enough of the Thai curry coconut sauce  ($16), a dish I’d recommend.
