Maia is a nutrient-rich yogurt currently being sold throughout New England, including Big Y stores, Stew Leonard’s, Dave’s Marketplace and many IGA independents
Maia Yogurt has 10 – 12 grams of protein and 10 times the probiotics in each cup compared to other yogurts (25 billion per cup, from 5 probiotics families). It low-fat, low-calorie and low in added sugars.
I didn’t care for this brand at all. My wife and I both tried several flavors and agreed. I’m a fan of greek yogurts and this is barely paletable. It is very grainy, has an artificial flavor, and odd aftertaste. I’d prefer sticking with oikos or even dannon 2xs protein when seeking a low fat or fat free, high protein yogurt.
The taste was not bad (tried the strawberry) but I found the texture off-putting. I prefer muller or chobani greek yogurts.
The “Strawberry” flavor of this product is NOT. There is not a hint of a strawberry to be found anywhere. I recently bought 2 cups, having never heard of or tried this brand and both were absent this way (lot 36-8430 D). The ingredients lists strawberries (with a prominently displayed picture of RED strawberries on the label), NOT strawberry flavor, juice, or water strawberries merely waded through. The protein and probiotics ARE there but, it should just be called “extremely lightly sweetened PLAIN”. Blueberry was blue with blueberry pieces so I was expecting strawberries in the strawberry. I was very disappointed in this particular product.
