Peppermint ice cream is my favorite! I grew up with Friendly’s peppermint all year round. These days, it seems like peppermint is only available during the holidays and I don’t get why. It seems to sell out fast, so why don’t manuf’rs realize there are people who like it and would buy it year-round? So kudos to Haagen-Dazs if their offering is truly avail. year-round. If not, boo. (BTW, my latest fav brand is Edy’s Slow-Churned Peppermint, b/c it’s lower in fat, but just as delish!)

I’m a mint junkie and was surprised by the taste and texture of the peppermint bark ice cream. I have to disagree with Susan though – the Edy’s peppermint version was to fake and didn’t taste at all like ice cream.

Word from HD has it that this flavor will be back this fall. Still finding out whether only for a limited time or for good.

Ching Yee Hu,
Thank you so much for that comment. Did they have it out later this year because I got some in early June. I can’t wait till September.

Last year I found it at Safeway on the east coast. But then when I went back to get more (yes, it’s THAT good), it took me forever to find it. After about 7 or 8 Safeways, I finally found it again. Looking forward to more of it this year.

Paul,
Thank you for the information. I found it at Ralph’s. That first bite was long awaited and worth it. It is also at Whole Foods. Albertson’s will order it if you request it.

I absolutely LOVE this flavor! THe white chocolate icecream is amazing and then to that you add milk & white chocolate pieces along with peppermint candy crunches….mmmmmmm. I can verifiy that this is a Limited Edition flavor, only available during the Christmas holidays. At Walmart, it was sold in a holiday package along with Vanilla but after the holidays they split up the package, dropping the price each week. This weekend, I HIT THE JACKPOT!! Walmart had cut the price to $1.00 per pint and boy did I jump on that!! I bought the last 28 containers of Peppermint Bark and stored them safely in my freezer! If you get the chance to try it…do so!

I was lucky enough to find a few containers that were hidden in the back of the freezer at Stater Brothers. I loved them! This flavor is addictive and the creaminess is remarkable. I hope to find some more soon.
