Juliet Kitchen & Grill opened recently as a restaurant within Juliet Supperclub, a late night hot spot in West Chelsea. Executive Chef Mario Tolentino, a recent winner of Food Network’s Tolentino-0144“Chopped” series from this current season, created the menu inspired by international and ethnic street foods from around the globe.

The menu includes flatbreads, ranging in flavors from Portugal (linguica, manchego, wild onions, piri piri), Greece (halumi cheese, morel mushrooms, oregano) and Egypt (za’atar, olives, tomato, basil). The “Grill” section features octopus with beluga lentils and chorizo, Coconut Curry Chicken with bibb lettuce and rice noodles, and Churrasco with flank steak and charred pineapple. “Fish” dishes range from Snapper Ceviche, with sweet potato, jalapeno, and lime, a Pupusa with crabmeat, roasted poblanos and curtido, and a Steamed Striped Bass in a banana leaf with kaffir lime and nahm prik. One of his desserts is a spin off of the dessert concoction that secured his “Chopped” victory, “Toasted Oat Beignets” with Vietnamese ‘bubble’ coffee, basil and orange gelato.
