On June 9, join cookbook author Susan Herrmann Loomis for a multi-dimensional luncheon, including a cooking demonstration of recipes from her newest work, Nuts in the Kitchen – a lively culinary guide and comprehensive collection of more than 100 nut-centric recipes, from appetizers to desserts. The four-course buffet lunch starts with Cocoa Nuts with Fleur de Sel and Parmigiano Seed Sticks, then Mushroom and Walnut Tarte Tartin and Tagine from Le Casbah. For dessert: Crumbly Almond Cake and Lemon Poppyseed Ice Cream.
The New York City Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier — the organization of female leaders in the food, wine and hospitality industries dedicated to education, advocacy and philanthropy — is sponsoring the event to be held at Cooking by the Book, 13 Worth Street between West Broadway & Hudson, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tickets — $50 for Les Dames members; $60 for non-members — are available by clicking here and includes the demo, luncheon and signed copy of Nuts in the Kitchen.
