On Saturday, May 1, 2010, Esquire magazine and Eleven Madison Park presentMint Julep New York’s ultimate Kentucky Derby celebration from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.

Esquire Editor-in-Chief David Granger and Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer will co-host the 2nd annual event at the award-winning restaurant. The celebration will include live coverage of the race at Churchill Downs, Chef Daniel Humm’s take on Southern cuisine, Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps, a Cigar Lounge by Nat Sherman, custom Derby hats by The Hat Shop’s Linda Pagan, live Kentucky Bluegrass music, and a silent auction benefitting New York Horse Rescue.

New York Philharmonic trumpeter Ethan Bensdorf will kick off the festivities with the playing of “The Call”. Guest of Honor, Maker’s Mark Master Distiller Kevin Smith, will hold “Bourbon 101” presentations.
