If you find yourself at the north end of Central Park, walk just a couple more blocks north to stop in at Marcus Samuelsson’s Streetbird Rotisserie, a diner-esque funky and casual place.

We sipped our drinks Mango Bellini with sparking wine and mango juice ($9) and Bloody Maria with vodka, hot sauce and tomato juice ($9) while soaking the interior fun art everywhere.

Since we were at a rotisserie we figured we should sample their Bird ‘N Stuff, ($14.50), a half chicken with daily rotisserie veggies. The bird was as moist as you might imagine, the veggies — a blend of string beans, celery, carrots, broccoli and a few snow peas — were a complete disappointment. Tough, stringy, flavorless. The shoestring regular and sweet potato fries, though, made up for the horrid veggies ($4)

What I’d highly recommend is the unusual amalgam of flavors in their Hot & Messy ($12.50). It’s a slab of toasted cornbread, spread with peanut butter, avocado, pulled chicken topped with an egg and bacon. Unusually delicious amalgam of flavors.

I look forward to returning for that or to sample some of the other interesting fare!
