Meander over to Sant Ambroeus Restaurant & Bar IMG_7423 while the weather still allows you to enjoy dine al fresco. It’s a neighborhood meeting place at the corner of West 4th and Perry Street where a pricey but good breakfast is served.IMG_7424
We sat at the outside tables, started with a refreshing mimosa ($20) and engaged in people (and dog) watching while waiting for our food. IMG_7425The Cornetti (Italian croissant, $3.50) oozed a delicious apricot filling and is worth every penny.
I also suggest either their Crostini Milanese ($14) – scrambled eggs, that day served with arugula and shaved parmesan, or their Pancakes al Mirtilli ($12) with homemade blueberry compote, sugar coated apples and fresh berries.

American coffee is $6. Sant Ambroeus also serves many other coffee drinks from their espresso bar. In fact, if you’re in a people-watching mood, I’d suggest an espresso and the cornetti at an outdoor table.
