There’s been a number of requests posted on our Readers Suggestions for a One Touch Can Opener asking for info on the product.
I contacted the company and have the instruction manual for all of you who either can’t get the batteries out, can’t figure out how to use it or who just lost their instruction book. Click here to download the Instruction manual for one touch can opener.
The instructions for replacing the batteries are terrible. To remove the “cover”, you don’t actually remove a cover. What you remove is the GRAY section – that whole gray strip comes off –
lay One Touch on a flat surface (on a towel to keep it from sliding around)top side UP, hold the narrow end with one hand (thumb and middle finger), with the other hand grasp the gray “cover” where the grasp marks are and press in on one side at a time (or both at once if that works for you) and gently rock it back and forth, for me, getting one side loose at a time worked best, gently though, there is a hook on each side and that is why you must press to push that hook in and the entire gray piece slides out and there are your batteries on one side. For me, the only way I got it open the first time was to slide my fingernail in at the top edge of the gray where it meets the rest of the body, then worked the one side open and then the other side.
Thank you Mary. Reading their directions I’d still have an opener with dead batteries. Follow Mary’s instructions and you’re home free!!!!!!
My One Touch batteries died halway through opening a can. A manual tells me to turn a release screw clocwise to release the One Touch from the can. My One Touch does not have such a screw. What would be my next move?
Thank You
