We sat outside as it was one of those perfect weather days. Our waiter did a good job of selling their warm monkey bread (hot buns) served with honey butter and fleur de sel ($9), being so hungry we consumed them as we ordered our drinks and food.
I shared the crunchy soft shelled crab club sandwich ($26) filled with avocado, bacon and tomatoes on jalapeño mayo-spread pepper milk bread. A tasty half was more than satisfying along with a side of malt vinegar fries ($5).
From what the others had, I’d recommend the tender, nicely seasoned herb-crusted skate with corn succotash, lentils and crispy capers in brown butter ($24) and the buttermilk-fried chicken cobb salad ($22), composed of layers of lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, blue cheese and avocado. Everything was served with a big smile,
(If you’re coming in from out of town, you might like to know that the Grand Hyatt New York has partnered with the both the gardens and Metro-North to offer through October 29, 2017 a 10% room rate savings, plus two all-garden passes to the Chihuly exhibition and train tickets from Grand Central Terminal on Metro-North.)
